Dear Martin has just released the single "Call for Justice" from the forthcoming EP "This is Wrong"

Dear Martin is here with an irresistible Ep - "This is Wrong". All five tracks are little gems of pure pop with the warmth in Dear Martins voice and the bittersweet piano chords clashing with cold beats.

Martin Edvardsson was the man behind mindwordsmusic, a Swedish band playing clubs around the country and voted “Album of the week” at Radio Stockholm. But being a bandleader meant compromising and Martin wanted more.

“I am really trying to do exactly the kind of music I want to.”

Being a singer, Dear Martin is inspired by artists with an expression of their own.

“The late Elliot Smith for example. Or Nina Persson of the Cardigans, both with extraordinary voices”, Martin says, and continue mentioning Jeff Lynne with his harmonies and Giorgio Moroder for his 30-year-ahead-of his-time productions as other great sources of inspirations.

“There are so many good acts right now. I love Feist or Hidden Cameras for example, not to mention the huge electro scene with stuff like Snowden, Junior Boys, Unklejam and of course, Justice.”

Dear Martin describes the music on the Ep “This is Wrong” as a bit quirky.

“I am not musically trained and can’t always follow the convention. I mean I really can’t, even if I sometimes would like to. Lyric wise I am more confident. I tend to write about the darker side. It’s difficult to be blissfully happy writing songs. I think I share that with a lot of musicians.”

Dear Martin is produced by Pacific

The EP is produced by Björn Synneby (of Pacific) in Gothenburg. The two have known each many years and have made music together before. Initially Dear Martin didn’t want any guitars at all in the production but eventually Björn added cut up guitar chords.

“Björn is doing things I just can´t say no to. I can be really satisfied with a song I’ve written, but then Björn is able to make them shine in a way I rarely can. He´s a genius.”

Dear Martin is currently shooting a video for "This is Wrong" and has just released the track “Call for Justice” as a single.

Live performances are planned during the fall and winter 2007.

The release date of the EP “This is wrong” is set to November 2nd.
